I recently came across these funny and insightful word equations by writer and artist, Craig Damrauer. These two examples are from his recent book, New Math: Equations for Living. More of his work can be found in the opening pages of the current issue of GOOD magazine where Damrauer explores the issue's theme of "for the people."

inspired by a comment aaron made last week, i came up with:
money
----- = energy (time)
vices
it seems to work out comically enough. the more vices you have sapping your money the less energy you have; the more time you spend at work, the more money you have to spend on vices; and best of all if you spend all your money on vices you break the whole equation! and you're broke!
i need a job.
